Istanbul Grill

Istanbul Grill is a small restaurant that offers a variety of authentic Turkish food. This restaurant’s cheap prices and great food make it one of my favorite restaurants in Houston.

If you go to Istanbul Grill, I recommend ordering the Adana Kebab. This consists of hand chopped lamb that has been charbroiled on a skewer, which makes it flavorful and delicious. It is then combined with spicy Turkish red peppers, adding a zesty touch to the dish. This meal is served on a bed of rice and a Turkish salad.

Istanbul Grill also offers a variety of Turkish desserts. I recommend the baklava. This pastry is delicious and buttery, and the walnuts add great texture and flavor. This dessert is the perfect ending to your meal at Istanbul Grill.

Istanbul Grill offers authentic Turkish food at great prices. If you are ever in the mood for some great Mediterranean food and are in the area, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Pei Wei

While Pei Wei may not be the most authentic Asian restaurant in Houston, it still offers good-tasting food at moderate prices. This restaurant’s menu consists of regional dishes from China, Mongolia, and other East Asian countries.

If you go to Pei Wei, I recommend ordering the ginger broccoli. Chicken, shrimp, or beef (your choice) is stir fried with ginger, scallions, and broccoli, and then soy sauce is added to the mix. This combination makes the whole dish more flavorful. Another good choice at Pei Wei is the Mandarin Kung Pao. This meal consists of a spicy mixture of carrots, peanuts, snap peas, and scallions, and it is also very good.

While Pei Wei offers slightly Americanized Asian food, some of its items are still good. This restaurant is a good choice if you are not in the mood for exotic food, and if you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping by.

Three Brothers Bakery

This week, I’m taking a break from traditional restaurants to talk about another kind of eatery: a bakery. While Houston has a variety of bakeries, my favorite has to be Three Brothers. This Jewish bakery offers many delicious products that make it worth a visit.

Each Friday, Three Brothers Bakery makes challah bread, or egg bread, as it is often called. If I had to pick one thing in the bakery to recommend, it would be this bread. Each loaf is finely made, and it tastes perfectly buttery. It comes in different sizes, and you have the option of getting it baked in a braided style or as a plain loaf. Either way, the challah bread is sure to be a great choice.

Besides challah bread, Three Brothers Bakery offers a wide variety of cookies, tarts, cakes, and breads. Because this is a Jewish bakery, all ingredients and products are kosher.

If you are ever in the mood for a dessert or some really good bread, give Three Brothers Bakery a try. Their challah bread and other delicious products have made this eatery one of my favorites in Houston.

Turquoise Grill

While Houston abounds with Tex-Mex and Chinese restaurants, it is also home to a less popular type of food: Turkish food. Out of the Turkish restaurants in Houston, one of my favorites is Turquoise Grill.

The first taste of Turquoise Grill that you will get is their shepherd bread. This appetizer is served with oil and spices to dip it in, and combined, it is a great way to start your meal. Once you are ready to order your main dish, there are several delicious options to choose from. I would recommend the Adana kebab. This is a flavorful blend of ground beef and lamb that is served with a type of Middle Eastern rice and grilled vegetables. Though it is a bit pricey, it is worth every penny.

Turquoise Grill is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston not only because of its great food but also because it helps to make a less popular type of food better known. If you ever want to experience authentic Turkish food, then I highly recommend this restaurant.

Out of all the Tex-Mex restaurants the Houston area has to offer, Guadalajara has become one of my favorites. This restaurant’s great food and fun atmosphere make it a great dining choice.

I judge a Tex-Mex restaurant by its tacos, and Guadalajara’s crispy beef tacos more than measured up to my standards. They were perfectly done, with the perfect balance of cheese and meat. They came with a side of rice and beans, and the rice was quite possibly the best Mexican rice I have ever eaten at a Tex-Mex restaurant. Other good dishes at Guadalajara include the spinach and chicken enchiladas and the cheese quesadillas.

Besides having delicious food, Guadalajara also has a fun, festive atmosphere. Christmas lights hang from the ceiling, and the walls are decoratively tiled. These decorations make visiting the restaurant a good visual experience as well an opportunity to eat good food.

Despite the large number of Tex-Mex restaurants in Houston Guadalajara has to compete with, this restaurant has quickly become one of my favorites. Its festive atmosphere and delicious food make it a great place to visit, and I highly recommend it.

Confucius is a truly authentic Chinese seafood restaurant that serves great-tasting food. If you ever want to deviate from the more Americanized restaurants and eat some true Chinese food, then this is a good place to start.

While Confucius offers a variety of dishes, one of the most popular is the lobster. This lobster can be ordered with or without sauce, according to your personal preference. It comes perfectly and authentically prepared, making it one of the more delicious choices at this restaurant.

If you don’t want to try something as adventurous as Chinese lobster, Confucius offers tamer menu choices. I recommend the beef and broccoli with Chinese broccoli and oyster sauce. The vegetables and meat are stir-fried to perfection, and in the end, this dish was one of the best things I tried from this restaurant.

If you ever want to try really authentic Chinese cuisine, you should make paying a visit to Confucius a priority. With its great food, this restaurant is one of my favorite Chinese places in Houston.

The Chocolate Bar

If you love chocolate as much as I do, you are probably tired of the same old brownies, chocolate bars, and candy. If this is the case, then the Chocolate Bar is the place for you.

The Chocolate Bar offers a wide variety of chocolate items, from cookies to ice cream to cake to chocolate chex mix. However, my favorite thing to get is the choclate chunk cookie. This enormous cookie has whole cubes of chocolate mixed into its batter, making each bite a delicious experience. Another thing to try is the Aunt Etta’s cake. The slices are huge, so if you get one you should probably share it with a friend.

Aunt Etta's cake

If you want to give a chocolate lover the perfect gift, the Chocolate Bar has several options. They offer chocolate birthday cakes, personalized letters, and other gifts, as well as gift cards.

The Chocolate Bar is one of my favorite dessert places in Houston. With its wide varitety of delicious chocolate items, it is a sure bet whenever you want an unforgettable dessert.
